I don’t know a whole lot about philosophy and whatnot. But I feel like the variation in knowledge (knowing-that vs. knowing-how) is derived mainly from our discrepancy between our long-term and short-term memory. are there already theories on that?
Well, when you get into short vs. long term memory (STM vs. LTM), you’re moving away from what is traditionally philosophy and more into experimental/physical science - neuroscience and psychology and whatnot. I know in neuroscience there has been research on what affects our sense of “time,” and how our brain categorizes knowledge by “time.” Apparently, the scale of your physical environment affects your phenomenological experience of “time”.. so the short-long term distinction can be affected by the knowledge and not visa versa.
There might be some theories about STM vs. LTM related to epistemology, but I haven’t seen them. There are a lot of theories about defining memory in general.
